The American Connection

Our connection with Capitol Heights Baptist Church (CHBC), in Pierre, South Dakota, USA and with Bogart Ministries began in 2014, when our current Pastor, Graham, and his wife Natalie flew out to America to spend some time with their friends, Rev Bob Bogart and his wife Debby. Graham and Natalie had got to know Bob and Debby here in England, through being members of the Christian Motorcyclists’ Association. At that time Bob and Debby were ministering at a church just outside Birmingham, but they subsequently returned to America, and to Pierre in South Dakota (The Mount Rushmore State). While Graham and Natalie were in America, it was mutually agreed that TLC and CHBC would become prayer-partnering sister churches, an arrangement that continues to this day. Graham and Natalie have been back to CHBC several times since to visit Bob and Debby, to help with Vacation Bible School (2016) - what we would call a holiday club - and to visit a Christian School on a nearby Native American Reservation, as well as assisting in devotional meetings and general tasks in and around the church.

Bob and Debby have since retired from Pastoral ministry and now live in Florida, many miles from South Dakota. They have their own ministry of discipleship (Bogart Ministries) and hope to continue with this once the Covid 19 restrictions allow. Graham and Natalie keep in regular contact with Bob and Debby and with their many friends at CHBC and hope to visit them all as soon as travelling restrictions are eased.
